So, what exactly is a heuristic? Look at the wiki link. The term can be defined broadly, but I'm choosing it to focus on the process or method of designing and building speakers.
It's audioheuristics, instead of speakerheuristics because over time it will broaden, hopefully. Of course, I've left the main title as Mark K's speaker pages because that's what everyone is familiar with and, well, that's what it currently is. No reason to ride the euphemism elevator just yet.
Why an .org suffix? No one remembers these anyway! Well, this site is a noncommercial site and it always will be. It is strictly my DIY site. I don't accept money or advertising, nor do I have commercial aspirations. My opinions are my own.* I do this because I have a long DIY electronics and engineering background. (BS Engineering UCLA '88) but my postgraduate training has taken me a long way from my engineering roots. Other time commitments, both personal and professional, have limited my time available. Still, I've committed to one project per year for the time being.
I've moved a bit away from testing drivers, though I'll look at them from time to time when something interesting arises. However, I've looked at enough drivers to get a feel for how most drivers will test and am not interested for testing drivers just to keep my site from becoming stale. If you have a driver that you think the DIY community might find interesting and you want me to test it, it's certainly worth sending me an email.
*This is not to say I haven't ended up with a few demo and testing units over the years. And, I suppose, strickly speaking, this could be a form of influence. However, in the grand scheme of things, the amount is small and I've expended far more time and money into this. Nor have I sold any sample units that I've received. In fact, I have some items that the sender would not pay for shipping back and, well, neither am I. I've given some away at DIY's. Others are just sitting around, increasing in entropy. But I'm not the ultimate altruist and would not turn a spectacular business opportunity away. Realistically though, I do not expect this and would make it clear to all if this sort of miracle of biblical proportions took place. It would not reside on this site.

Can you email me? Sure. Will I be able to help? Who knows. I'll either offer my help or politely decline your request.
contact me- mk at audioheuristics.org I presume you can figure that out.
